Township Resident Pens Book Birmingham resident Carla Westerman is the author and photographer of the recently-published pictorial guide Chadds Ford: History, Heroes, and Landmarks. Illustrated with 60 color photographs, the book describes the historical events, artistic legacy and cultural attractions that have made tiny Chadds Ford one of the most widely recognized places in the Brandywine Valley. Carla’s interest in Chadds Ford history began when she was covering the area as a reporter for the Kennett Paper from 1997 to 2001. She spent more than a year researching the book and taking the photographs which capture Chadds Ford’s scenic beauty in all four seasons. The book is available locally at the Brandywine River Museum, the Chadds Ford Historical Society and Chester County Book Company for $9.95. Birmingham residents who wish to purchase a signed copy of the book, may e-mail Carla at westerman@msn.com. |
