Get Involved In Your Community The Birmingham Township Recreation, Parks, and Open Space Committee (RPOS) is looking for a volunteer. The seven member committee meets on the third Wednesday of each month at the Township Building from 7 PM to 9 PM. The responsibilities of RPOS include: · Increasing awareness of the existing environmental resources to guide preservation efforts of environmentally sensitive areas. · Preservation of an appropriate amount of open space. · Coordination of land development with the preservation of the natural, scenic and historic resources. · Identification of long-term park and recreational facility needs. If you are interested in volunteering, please send a letter of interest to the Birmingham Township Office, 1040 West Street Road, West Chester, PA 19382.
Our appreciation is extended to Katherine Schauer, Country Club Road resident, who participated on RPOS for the last five years. Kathy was instrumental in making Sandy Hollow Heritage Park a reality for the community. |

Emergency Vehicles When an emergency vehicle is approaching your vehicle from behind, do you know what to do? Don’t be alarmed or panic, just pull your vehicle over as far to the right as possible and come to a complete stop. Never stop in the middle of the road, pull to the center lane or into oncoming traffic. It is very difficult for emergency vehicles to watch your vehicle on the right as well as oncoming traffic on their left. Please, never try to out run or fail to yield to an emergency vehicle which could cause an accident or slow the response of emergency services to the aid of someone, maybe your loved ones. When you see an emergency vehicle approaching, remember this simple phrase. Pull to the Right for Sirens and Lights. |
